On The Road Again

ASA High School Tour is BACK! We are so excited to be visiting Lansing, MI, Indianapolis, IN, Chicago, IL, and the Twin Cities of Minnesota during the 2015 Spring Tour.

Joining us on this Spring tour is an incredible line-up of athletes, including BMX elite Jimmy Walker, Zach Newman, and Mat Olson, BMX flatland star Trevor Meyer, skate boarding’s best Nolan Munroe, Josh Stafford, and Alex Landeros and one of the world’s top inline skaters, Eito Yasutoko.

We are continuing to partner with the US Marines, and we are proud and excited to be sharing the new message of “No Place for Hate” from the Anti-Defamation League.

We kicked off the tour with a great week in Lansing, MI and would like to thank Eastern High School, Carman-Ainsworth High School, Goodrich High School, Okemos High School, and St. Johns High School for a fun, exciting week of shows!

The anti-bullying message was communicated through cold, hard facts:

  • 70.6 percent of young people say they have witnessed bullying in their school and 20 percent of U.S. students in grades 9-12 have experienced bullying
  • 160,000 students stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying and one in 10 drop out because of it.
  • 4,500 students commit suicide each year because of bullying, the third leading cause of death among young people

Our emcee, Dustin Grice, touched on three forms of bullying: physical, verbal, and a new form which has grown massively in high schools, cyber bullying. The students paid attention as Grice spoke directly to those who have been involved with hateful text messages, cruel social media comments, false rumors, and name calling/the use of racial slurs. He encouraged the students to do their part, stating, “YOU have the ability to put an end to bullying.”

With a successful week under our belt, we are ready to hit the road and meet thousands of new students this coming week- Indianapolis, HERE WE COME!
